Lorena Wiebes beats Marianne Vos with a powerful sprint and wins Milan-San Remo: “She surprised me a little”

Lorena Wiebes has won Milan-San Remo for women. The cycling monument, which was held from 1999 to 2005 under the name Primavera Rosa, is back on the calendar. European champion Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) was the fastest in the sprint of an elite group. She defeated Marianne Vos with a powerful sprint. The Swiss Noemi Rüegg finished third.
