Steak 15 percent more expensive due to beef spot shortage: Diseases in cows

Those who want to eat a steak will soon find it a lot more expensive at the Beenhouwer. Due to a shortage of cattle in Belgium, the price of beef rises to the highest level in years. According to Ivan Claeys, chairman of the Landsbond der Beenhouwers, Spekslagers and caterers of Belgium, a price increase of 15 percent is expected.
