The Schaapshudde Foundation The Stroomdal contradicts that there was a deal with Herder Marianne Dunkirk (67) to take over her herd of sheep on the Balloërveld.
Dunkirk stops as a shepherd and the Stroomdal takes over its work in the nature reserve, but there is no room for the four hundred heath sheep.
At RTV Drenthe Dunkirk complained that the new shepherd does not take over her herd of sheep, while she had an oral agreement about it.
According to her, Julie Teunen, shepherd at the Stroomdal, even walked three days to get to know the herd of the Balloërveld.
But according to Reinier van Klinken, board member of the Stroomdal and former shepherd, such a deal has never been there. He thinks it is a shame that one of the shepherds is now receiving criticism.
“A takeover could only be done after consultation with us as a board, because the foundation is the owner of the sheep. And we never had a conversation with her.”
