The 3:4 in the home game against Hansa Rostock was fatal for Grammozis. Simon Terodde hit his head three times and the center forward almost continued this series. But Terodde’s header from about five meters flew into the bar in the eleventh minute.
Schalke was the better team at the beginning. However, the level of the game dropped considerably after the first good chance. This weak phase lasted until the break whistle.
Schalke more determined after the break
The Gelsenkircheners started the second half more determined and settled down in the bottom half of the table. Terodde’s shot on the turn was blocked from a cross from the right and Zalazar switched quickly and scored the opener.
