After the first round, FC Torino deservedly lead 1-0 against favorites Inter Milan. The hosts rewarded themselves for a strong opening phase and took the lead after a corner through Bremer. A little later, the very active Belotti just missed out on Samir Handanovič. Inter Milan was only dangerous through standards for the entire half-time. Twice it was Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who brought the ball in from the left with a pull to the goal in the middle. However, Etrit Berisha was able to keep the zero with two brilliant saves. Towards the end of the first section, Belotti fell after a duel with Andrea Ranocchia. The Turiner was hit clearly and should have received a penalty.
