A house with a thatched roof on Provincialeweg Zuid in Almkerk was destroyed by fire on Tuesday night. The fire was discovered around a quarter to a night. The residents were sleeping at that time. They woke up from the smoke detector who went off. The residents then urgently left their house.
Probably the fire started from the inside and the fire has paved its way out through the roof.
The residents had stuffed it because of the smoke they received. They have been checked by ambulance personnel, but they did not have to be brought to a hospital.

Re -extinguish
When the fire brigade arrived, the thatched roof of the house had already caught completely fire.
The fire brigade scale immediately and had several vehicles come to fight the fire. Among other things, a ladder car from the fire brigade in Gorinchem came to Almkerk.
Around three o’clock in the morning it turned out that the house had completely burned out. The fire brigade is busy with re -extinguishing.
