Sales manager Iwona Andruszkiewicz made a call to the owners via NH to report. She was working at the auction on Thursday when a few colleagues with a cat entered the office. They had found the animal between the flower bulbs that the driver had picked up at different addresses earlier in the day.
Calling the addresses did not yield anything in the first instance, but when Iwona recalled everyone again today, she had a bite. The cat appears to be called Murka and had boarded when the truck picked up flowers at a company in Voorhout. She was only for four months with the family who lives in Amstelveen and – ironically – comes from Ukraine herself.
Daughter missed her
“Daughter Sofia missed her very much and is very happy that she was found,” Iwona tells NH Nieuws. Sofia’s parents were also overjoyed when they put the cat back in their arms last night.
To make sure that the patch cat was not picked up by a stranger, Iwona kept one striking detail about the cat secret. “She was wearing a special band,” she now reveals. “The owners told that immediately, so I know for sure.”
Iwona is happy with the happy ending, but is secretly finding it a bit of a shame that the hairy lodge is going to leave her house. The beast has stolen her heart. “With pain in my heart I let them go home.”
