The first report of the fire was made at 2.18 pm. Soon the fire brigade scaled up and were present with several extinguishing vehicles.
The fire had started on the ground floor, but was then moved to the upper floor. The residents who have inhaled smoke have been checked by ambulance personnel.
A lot of smoke was released during the fire. The safety region has warned local residents about the smoke in the area.
Drone of bystander deployed
Due to the narrow street, a platform from the fire brigade could not be used. A bystander made drone images for the safety region, so that the fire brigade could get the size of the fire.
More than 2.5 hours after the first report of the fire, the fire brigade had the fire under control. Demolition work had to be done in the building to be able to reach the last hot spots. The resident and residents of two adjacent buildings have had to spend the night elsewhere.
Iron particles in the water
The safety region has warned residents from the same neighborhood (city center within the Linie-Oost) for brown water from the crane. “This is due to iron particles that have been released. The advice is to let the water go through until it is no longer brown.” According to the safety region, the water is safe to drink.
