The indie band seems to spend time together in the studio and working on a new album. At least this shows a current post from The XX on Instagram.
“It’s like The Avengers!”
The still up -to -date album of the trio, I See You, was released in 2017. Since then, their fans have had to be satisfied with the common song Waited All Night, who appeared on the solo work by member Jamie XX in 2024. In the summer of 2024, according to “NME”, he already said that the band was working on a new record and would have “a good time”. “It’s like The Avengers! We said it ourselves. It is always so nice to get together with them, ”said the 36-year-old.
But now there is a photo from the studio and thus a verification:
Romy, a guitarist and singer of the band, said to “NME” at the 2024 Brit Awards that new music was in the works. “We really keep it open and we are ready to try new things, but it sounds like us. That’s all I can say at the moment, ”she said.
It is unclear whether the artists themselves do not know anything more precisely or whether they simply do not want to share the news with the public.
Different solo projects of the members
The last album by The XX, I See You. Then the three devoted themselves to their solo projects. From Romy came out in 2023 Mid Air, Oliver Sim shared his record Hideous Bastard as early as 2022. In September 2024, Jamie XX was also his turn with his solo work in Waves.
