The Straubing Tigers and the Nuremberg Ice Tigers have used their home advantage and only need another victory to move into the playoff quarter-finals of the German Ice Hockey League.
In the first game of the Best-of-Three series, Straubing, the seventh of the DEL main round, the tenth, the lion Frankfurt, 2-1 (1: 1, 1: 0, 0: 0). On Sunday evening, Nuremberg prevailed 4: 3 (2: 1, 2: 2, 0: 0) against the Schwenninger Wild Wings in a no less contested playoff game. With this, both victorious clubs have the reunion in Frankfurt or Schwenningen on Tuesday evening match ball.
Brave Frankfurter took the lead in the ice stadium on the powder tower through Reid McNeill (7th), but Josh Melnick (9th) answered almost immediately.
