Two days after the ear washing at home against Excelsior (2-5 loss), FC Volendam trained in the run-up to the next top match. Tomorrow night crosses The new Orange the swords with number two FC Emmen.
At the final training session, a number of names were missing from the team of trainer Wim Jonk. Benaissa Benamar, Oskar Buur and Bilal Ould-Chikh were absent from the final practice. The latter did something with the ball for a few minutes, but let the group training pass by.
The match against Excelsior seems to have consequences for Mike Eerdhuijzen. The central defender, who will leave for Sparta after this season, must fear for his base place. All indications are that Josh Flint will play center back with Damon Mirani and Walid Ould-Chikh will act as right-back. A new base for Alex Plat in midfield also seems a serious option. Gaetano Oristanio, who retired against Excelsior, trained fully and seems to be just fit.
