Power struggle at Hannover 96, fan boycotts on both sides and a lot of police: Before the 182nd Lower Sachsenidby, football has become a bit of a matter of a matter. On Sunday, both second division teams are particularly sporty.
BTSV coach Daniel Schering summed it up: “The opponent wants to climb, we want to stay in the league.” No more, but no less is at stake for the two arch -rivals. The fact that the duel is not a game like any other in the 96-arena (1.30 p.m., in the NDR LIVENCENTER) is already out of the question.
“Heroes are born in every derby. We also have enough players who have the potential to write one of these stories on Sunday.”
-BTSV trainer Daniel Schering
“The derby is always something very special, there is no outsider. It is an extremely important game for us, the fans and the city,” said Eintracht captain Ermin Bicakcic in the NDR interview. “We have to burn on the pitch.”
Only a good 800 Eintracht fans
Just mind you on the pitch. Too often in the past, this was not the case in the Lower Saxony Sendby, which was repeatedly accompanied by riots. A partial exclusion of the guest fans through politics was the result. In Hanover there are a maximum of 2,541 supporters from Braunschweig, but it will only be a good 800, as the club announced on Friday. A form of protesting the organized fan scene. Many 96 supporters also want to stay away from the game.
Nothing will be as usual, the “Red Curve” announced, the umbrella organization of the 96 fan clubs: no fan march for the stadium, no choreo before the game and no support through the active fan scene during the game. It should be an unusual atmosphere at the derby – and quite quiet. Both fan camps unit the motto “fan culture unmistakable”.
“This is no longer a derby”
“It is a ban on choreo and also a ban on fanutensil.
Braunschweig-Profi Bicakcic sees it similarly: “The fans and fan culture belong to the stadium. Especially with such a derby. Everything has to be limited, but there is a strange aftertaste.”
Outside the stadium, the federal police relies on strict fan separation when arrival and departure and has issued numerous bans. “We will consistently proceed on arrival against any form of violence and pyro excesses,” said operations manager Martin Kröger. The police department Hanover said that possible “third -party matters” also have an eye on the application planning. After the first leg last October, around 50 Hannover fans had attacked more than 100 Braunschweig supporters in a restaurant around 15 kilometers from the well-secured stadium.
Braunschweig triumphed in the first leg
Show up is the keyword for both teams and “focus on what happens on the lawn,” said Scherning. The first leg with the 2-0 win in your own stadium is still in good memory: “We showed what we can do in such a derby. Discipline, resistance, stress resistance, pace and a determination towards the opposing goal – it will be important. The team that brings these points better will win this game.”
“Of course, Eintracht knows that our team is the better one.”
-96 coach André Breitenreiter
It is clear to André Breitenreiter. “Of course, Eintracht knows that our team is the better one,” said the 96 coach. “You will want to get involved in duels to bring a certain emotionality in. We have to hold up to hold the opponent with our playful quality.”
The lack of the yellow-locked top performers Fabian Kunze and Enzo Leopold could weigh hard for him and 96. Breitenreiter wanted to “complain. We have options and can replace them”.
Child: “We want and must win”
Since the successor to Stefan Leitl has sporty legend on the Maschsee, 96 has been unbeaten, but many draws have also increased. Colleague Scherning praised Hanover as a “very disciplined team with a lot of speed and more depth”. That wants to go back to the Bundesliga.
“The ascent is still within reach, we want and have to win,” said the long-time professional manager and partner Martin Kind. The 80-year-old is no longer in the first series of decision-makers, but is still in the middle of the power struggles behind the 96 scenes that cook up again before the derby. The wrestling is currently about a managing director in the decisive phase and, more than less, than the license.
The entrepreneur relies on Breitenreiter (“I am personally satisfied with his work”) under which the Hanoverians have not yet lost. “We want to continue this series and then we are hopeful,” said Kind. Especially in the derby in your own stadium, where there is so much at stake.
