A reservist is a part -time soldier. That is a soldier who has done military basic training, but also has a normal job. Reservists can indicate for themselves how often and how long they want to work, but the position is not entirely without obligation. For example, there are compulsory exercises, training and meetings that have to connect a reservist.
You can become a reservist both at the Royal Netherlands Army and the Navy, the Air Force, the Marechaussee and as a cyber specialist at the Defense Cyber Commando.
