In 2023, 37,317 female entrepreneurs were active in the main occupation, but mainly entrepreneurship in a secondary occupation is on the rise. For example, 676 female entrepreneurs in secondary occupation were added in 2023. “I started my business in leather processing in a secondary occupation,” says Francine Jansseune of Leather Be Brugge. “I quickly fell in love with the product, so I made my main occupation at the same pace”.
