The police were on the wrong track during the investigation into the destruction of the watchtower in Riethoven. The four boys who were seen as suspects appear to be harmless after investigation. The actual suspect is now known.
The watchtower has only been open since June last year, but there have now been vandalism. For example, heavy fireworks were set off on November 7, causing the tower to be damaged.
A month later, camera images were shared by the police. The four boys could be seen on this when they walked over the stairs of the tower with fireworks. The police thought they were the perpetrators of destruction and called on people to report with more information about the boys. Thanks to several tips, the police soon found out the identity of the suspects.
Misconduct
Although this turned out not to be the right track afterwards, the police now report on social media. “After further investigation, it turned out that they were not a suspect of this destruction.”
