Thursday 6 March, quartermaster Jakob Klompien presented the concept of Economic Agenda for Groningen and Noord-Drenthe. The agenda was created through cooperation between the central government with municipalities and the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe.
Part of Nij Begun
The Economic Agenda is part of the package of measures after the Gas extraction inquiry: a Nij Begun for Groningen and Northern Drenthe. The agenda is an investment framework for thirty years. For the Economic Agenda, the cabinet shows its generation -long involvement with € 100 million per year for the next 30 years, and a one -off boost of € 250 million.
Input from residents and experts
The content of the Economic Agenda stems from countless discussions with entrepreneurs, residents, experts and administrators. People could give their opinion online in different participation rounds, there were expert sessions, large meetings and conversations with young people. All thinkers agreed on the main goal of the agenda: stimulating a future -proof economy in a healthy and attractive region.
Programs and themes
The economic agenda focuses on fine life, living and working in the region. For this there are plans for employment, training opportunities and economic future perspective. The agenda is not a summary of projects and programs to be financed. The agenda invests in broad, generic programs and projects and in specific themes.
