Colossal Super Colony Exotic ants at Waalsdorpervlakte: ‘Several paths already sagged’

At the Waalsdorpervlakte, between The Hague and Wassenaar, there is a ‘super colony’ of ants of a species originally from Central Asia. The group at the Waalsdorpervlakte is the first colony ‘pests’ that has been observed in a nature reserve in Northwestern Europe, according to the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
