The rugby players of RFC Haarlem have lost for the first time this season. After nine victories in the honorary division, RC ‘t Gooi lost 14-7 today.
“This can always happen and is tough. A shame. It was a sloppy match. That may have been due to the weather,” said RFC Haarlem captain Lucas de Waaij.
Due to RC ‘t Gooi’s win, Gareth Gilbert’s team now takes over the lead from RFC Haarlem. “Coming here to Haarlem and winning is a fantastic achievement. I am very proud”, Gilbert said afterwards. The game was supposed to be played in Naarden, but the field was disallowed there. In Haarlem, the field was good and so it was decided to play there.
Monday an extensive report can be seen in NH Sport about the two best rugby clubs of the moment.
