In an accident on the Veldweg near Peest, the driver of a delivery van was killed.
The 55-year-old man from Deurze probably first hit the mirror of an oncoming car and then bumped into a tree. Witnesses report that the man drove fast. Rescuers, including a trauma helicopter, came to the accident. The help was no longer allowed, the driver died on the spot.
The Veldweg was closed after the accident.
