The investigation into the assault, rape and extortion of around 70 teenage girls from the Netherlands and Belgium is still in full swing. The case is so great that the judiciary still has to have conversations with victims and their parents in the coming months. That became apparent on Wednesday in the court in Breda during a second interim session.
Mohamed B. (29) was not there himself. The session also lasted briefly and the state of the investigation was stopped for half an hour. Since the last session in December, the abuse of at least four children has been added to the huge file.
It became clear that 19 victims of the 70 could not be identified. 16 or 17 victims also come from Belgium, which makes the investigation extra difficult. Justice is talking to the other parents and victims or will do so soon. They are offered help and they can think if they want to make a declaration.
Innocent computer game
Mohamed B. would have forced the girls through the chat of an innocent computer game to send nude photos. He would also have raped a thirteen -year -old girl, assaulted a ten -year -old girl and had a large amount of child pornography.
The man was arrested on 27 August after a thirteen -year -old girl from Alblasserdam reported rape. There was already an investigation against him then because he would have blackmailed two girls from Oosterhout aged 10 and 13 with nude photos. At first it only seemed to go two victims, but now it turns out to be 70.
The online abuse went through a computer game. Under the name ‘Zepeto’ the man approached dozens of girls between the ages of 7 and 16. He chatted with them and eventually forced the girls to make nude films of themselves and send them to him. He did that through the chat of the game and later via Instagram and other social media platforms.
Digital diamonds
The man forced one of the victims, an 11-year-old girl, to satisfy herself and send photos to him, the officer says in the courtroom. The man threatened to do something about the girl’s family if she would refuse to take pictures. Another girl of twelve years old, he promised digital diamonds in exchange for photos of her breasts.
In this way the Oosterhouter got nude photos of dozens of young girls, which he kept. There were thousands of images and screenshots of the chat conversations on his computer. In addition, a house search showed that the man had much more child pornography in his possession. On telephones, laptops and hard drives of the man, 34,000 photos and videos of children’s porn were found.
Where it first stayed alone with extortion, the man went one step further in July. He met with a thirteen -year -old girl from Alblasserdam, after which he would have raped her. He also forced her to pull him off. According to the OM, the man continued, even though the girl told him several times that she wanted to stop.
