I’m just not sure right now? Alonso could of course fit, but why should he leave Leverkusen. He has everything he needs. I also believe the Leverkusen that will prevail against Bavaria in the CL. Why should he switch from B04 to real?
B04 is an association that historically did not win any titles, while Real is the record of the CL.
B04 is one of the most finest teams in Germany, Real is one of the highest finance worldwide.
B04 will not keep top players like Wirtz forever, real is currently the goal for top players like Bellingham, Mbappé or Vinicius.
With B04 he has already (almost) achieved the maximum possible, but he will probably never be able to get a CL title there. This has only been successful for years to the big, established clubs, I hardly believe that Leverkusen of all people will be the exception. In comparison, the club is real to win the CL. I also do not see nationally that Leverkusen plays another season like last year.
And last but not least: Xabi Alonso is Spaniard and used to play for Real, so it is understandable that the position with that club is more excited than “any” (exaggerated) association in Germany with which he had nothing to do before.
All in all, for Leverkusen, only the media -like in comparison speaks, the low competitive density in the league tip, which makes national success more likely, and that you probably have more patience there if it doesn’t work.
But I appreciate Alonso solely because of his previous success as a player that the sporting perspective, especially in relation to the CL, is simply more important to him than preservation a status quo.
