With a short but intense fire in Zoparc Overloon, six skulls were killed on Monday evening. They were in a stay, where the fire had broken out around nine o’clock due to unknown cause.
The fire was quickly noticed by Buren, who immediately called 112 and also contacted the zoo. Both the fire brigade and park staff were quickly on site. Together they made sure that the fire was quickly extinguished.
The fire brigade used various cars to combat the fire, reports a spokesperson for the Brabant-Noord security region.
A spokesperson for Libéma, the owner of this zoo, says that carers of the animals are excited and sad.
The skulls were housed in a secluded location of the complex. As a result, no other animals were involved in the fatal fire.
