VfB Stuttgart has a good chance against Bayern Munich and also takes the lead – but is making decisive mistakes.
VfB Stuttgart has given FC Bayern Munich with some problems, but lost 1: 3 (1: 1) due to its own mistakes on Friday. At the opening game of the 24th Bundesliga match day, Angelo Stiller (34th) brought VfB in the lead. Michael Olise (45.), Leon Goretzka (64th) and substitute Kingsley Coman (90th) turned the game in favor of FCB.
Leaders Munich expanded its lead over eleven points, pursuer Bayer Leverkusen will play at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. On Wednesday, the two best German teams currently meet in the round of 16 of the Champions League. VfB has now lost three home games in a row under coach Sebastian Hoeneß for the first time.
Goretzka and Palhinha for the first time the double-six
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany had to rebuild his defensive midfield because Aleksandar Pavlovic (sick) and Joshua Kimmich (tendon irritation) were missing. Leon Goretzka and Joao Palhinha formed the double -six – for the first time in this combination. In the front, the recovered top striker Harry Kane returned to the starting eleven.
The first big chance of the game belonged to VfB, but Josha Vagnoman gave it freely before Manuel Neuer pitifully, his lifter got far too flat. Vagnoman had moved into the starting eleven for the injured Leonidas Stergiou.
New speculates, Stiller meets
For Bayern, Jamal Musiala fled the goal (22nd), for Stuttgart Deniz undav met the post (31st) after a nice attack. A slip from Leroy Sané finally opened the door to the Stuttgart lead. Stiller received the ball 18 meters in front of the goal and met the right corner from the stand. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had speculated on a shot in the long corner.
Stiller hits new
The lead was deserved, the compensation shortly before the break was flattering. After fine preparatory work by Sané, Olise converted confidently into the left upper corner.
Nübel and Stiller Patzen in the building of the game
In the second round, the teams largely neutralized until the Stuttgart made Bayern the second goal possible. Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel was looking for a playful solution, but his passport to silenter to his own 16 was too risky. Goretzka lurked nearby and started Stiller’s direct passport attempt. He transformed freely in front of the goal to 1: 2.
“I said to the coach at halftime that I will score a goal”, Goretzka said at Sky. “I knew that Angelo likes to play the ball with his left foot.”
Vagnoman loses the ball
VfB continued to be brave and showed good approaches, but was no longer able to equalize. Instead, Vagnoman distributed the next gift, the last man lost the ball to Coman, who cured Nübel and got the final score.
The 18 -year -old Stuttgart central defender Finn Jeltsch showed a remarkable performance. The winter access was in the starting eleven for the second time and played flawlessly against the Bayern stars, saved against Sané in the greatest need.
Bavaria first against Leverkusen, then against Bochum
However, Jeltsch will miss the upcoming game. He saw yellow and is closed because of his four warnings from that of the back series when he played for the 1st FC Nürnberg in the 2nd league. Stuttgart will play on match day 25 in Kiel (08.03., 3:30 p.m.).
At the same time, Bavaria welcomes the team from Bochum. Before that, however, the FCB receives Leverkusen for the Champions League summit on Wednesday (9:00 p.m.).
