The girl was still resuscitated, first by bystanders, police and fire brigade, later by ambulance personnel, but help came too late. “This was the least I could do,” says the boy before he continues his way.
Flags half -mast
There is also a mourning mood in the center of Ouder-Amstel. The flags in front of the town hall in the Dorpsstraat are half -mast. A spokesperson confirms that this is the case because of the deadly accident. “As an expression of compassion, Ouder-Amstel is a small community.”
What exactly happened yesterday afternoon is still unclear. Although the cycle path was closed until 10 p.m. last night, the official investigation into the fatal accident still has to be done, an employee from the province told NH.
Earlier, the police informed NH that a Birro (a moped car) had hit two young cyclists on the cycle path. One of them was therefore seriously injured and died on the spot, another also fell and was slightly injured.
The director of the Biro was sent home after interrogation at the police station. At the moment he or she is not seen as a suspect. The bicycle building is currently closed for the investigation, which means that cyclists have to cycle temporarily.
