Less than three minutes, it is clear that Cyndi Lauper is the most likeable Ü70 pop star in the world. She begins her farewell concert in the Berlin Uber-Arena “She Bop”the happy masturbation anthem, which was a shock in 1983 and is still great fun today. Then she immediately pushes the Prince cover “When you were mine” and “I drove all night”-with the indication that there are hardly any songs in which women drive car-there is also the possibility to drive away a symbol for Freedom. It tortures almost as great as it used to be, even if she coughed up in between. With Wanda Jackson’s “Funnel of Love” Lauper reminds her rockabilly past, she tells long stories from her life and does not save the difficult times. In the end, of course, it boils down to the crucial knowledge: do what you want!
The colorful show is a single celebration of joie de vivre and individuality, but the entertainer is keeping herself up to appear – or as if she had made it alone. Again and again she reports about the people who stood her. One of them is on the bass with her seven -member band: William Wittman was already there at her debut album, 42 years ago.

It seems like a symbol of her life that Cyndi Lauper wears the strangest wigs and costumes, but reasonable shoes. Hopefully she will run in the sun for many years.
