The clothing provider Bonprix is driving the digitization of product development. On Monday, Otto Group, which belongs to the Hamburg Commercial and Service Group, presented its new “Fashion Creation App”.
The AI-based tool is used “directly at the beginning of the product development process” and provides product management with just a few input inspiration for designs, explained Bonprix.
The new, developed app developed in its own company is “the first step of a completely digitized product development, which will range from the design idea to virtual fitting”. Several digital applications are “already in use”, others are “in development”, the clothing provider said.
Jessica Külper, the Head of Consulting & Innovations at Bonprix, explained the advantages of the tool. “The Fashion Creation app simplifies and complements the inspiration phase in product development immensely,” she said in a statement. “The photo-realistic representation of the product, supplemented by detailed style briefing, also significantly improves the handover to technical product development.”
Customers: inside should gradually participate in the innovations. After the “successful test phase and the sale of the first AI assisted style in the web shop”, “the expansion in the fashion range” is planned for the current year, according to a message.
