The 1st FC Magdeburg had to accept a setback in the promotion struggle in the 2nd Bundesliga by defeat at the Karlsruher SC. Despite the lead, the FCM lost 1: 3 (1: 1). The team of coach Christian Titz is initially in fourth place in the table. The KSC celebrated its first victory in the second half of the season.
Initially, the hosts acted harmless again before 26,148 fans. Magdeburg had more of the game right from the start and, after half an hour, went through Baris Atik, who saw the yellow-red card after the end of the regular season. Just ten minutes later, Martijn Kaars freely missed a more comfortable lead in front of KSC keeper Max Weiß.
That should take revenge. In the third minute of the stoppage time of the first half, Nicolai Rapp equalized with the first chance of the home side with a head and shortly after the change of sides, Christoph Kobald, who had moved through and turned the game (48.). Marvin Wanitzek, who completed a movement in a see (69.), made the decision.
Regensburg loses basement duel near Prussia Münster
For SSV Jahn Regensburg, after another away defeat, direct relegation is moving away. After a 0: 2 (0: 1) bankruptcy at Prussia Münster, the bottom of the table is already eight points behind 15th place in the table.

For Münster, who pushed himself to 15th, at least until Sunday, Hólmbert Aron Fridjónsson (42nd minute) and Simon Scherder (69.) with their goals last three defeats.
But it was not a sovereign home success of the Münsterans who were missing seven potential regular players because of barriers and injuries. On the contrary: Regensburg was the better team in a competitive game, but acted too harmless on the offensive. The Münsteraners were more effective: Fridjónsson’s goal fell after the host’s first offensive campaign. And when Regensburg tried to equalize after the change of sides, Scherder was on hand after a free kick and scored his first second division.
Gaal goal does not count: zero number between Ulm and Elversberg
Hardly any chances, no goals: SSV Ulm and SV Elversberg separated goalless. While the team of guest coach Horst Steffen missed it to climb up in the table, the Ulm Spatzen are still on a relegation zone.
In a competitive game, the hosts were closer to the leadership. But after a header from Tom Gaal, the supposed 1: 0 was collected again after viewing the video images due to an offside position (60th minute).

The hosts had the better opportunities before Gaal’s chance. Winter-newcomer Oliver Batista Meier dipped dangerously in front of the Elversberger Tor, but the offensive player missed the lead twice. The Ulm standards also caused unrest. But the Elversberger defensive withstanded pressure. The SVE checked the action a little more after the change of sides, but it also didn’t have the very big occasions.
