The round of 16 of the Champions League were drawn. While BVB is lucky, Bavaria and Leverkusen also meet in the premier class.
In the Champions League there is a German duel between FC Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. The two Bundesliga clubs meet in the round of 16 on 4/5. and 11./12. March on each other. They compete against each other for the fourth and fifth time this season after two league duels and a cup game.
The first leg takes place in Munich because Bayern cut off less in the group phase and had to take the detour via the playoffs. The decision is then made in Leverkusen a week later. The two Bundesliga duels ended. Bayer won 1-0 in Munich in the DFB Cup and has been a big favorite there ever since.
For the two German top clubs, there were only two opponent options for the Reformed Champions League mode. Instead of two Spanish-German duels, the Bundesliga duel now occurs. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid determine a quarter -finalists in the city derby.
Borussia Dortmund is dealing with OSC Lille from France in the round of the last 16, as the draw of the European Football Union UEFA showed. For the Dortmund an adversary who is not part of the favorite group. BVB first plays at home against Lille.
