At the beginning of the 1960s, the music scene of New York was as lively as maybe never before and afterwards. There is an immense social spirit of optimism. A quiet 19-year-old from Minnesota comes to the West Village with his guitar and extraordinary talent. It will decisively shape music history in the following decades like no other. The biopic of director James Mangold draws Dylan (played by “Dune” star Timothée Chalamet) how his career as an artist builds on friendships and close relationships. It also shows how Dylan-after becoming a star of the folk movement-does not want to be influenced by the scene in order to go his very own musical path. He makes a complicated decision that triggers a cultural earthquake.
