The glasses specialist MyKita has moved within Berlin with its headquarters.
The relocation “marks a significant step in the continuous development of the brand,” said MyKita on Thursday. The new ‘MyKita Haus’ was designed seriously together with the Berlin architecture firm Grüntuch. A “modern research and development center” has emerged from a historic building.
MyKita founder Moritz Krüger describes the new headquarters as “our kitchen, a place to refine our ingredients, to cultivate our manufacturing intelligence and create space for creative exchange. This new space is a continuation of our unconventional path and a manifestation of our future potential . “
The move follows after LVMH expressed his interest in the glasses brand in November. The French luxury goods group planned to acquire a minority stake in its subsidiary Thélios. The other shares remain with creative director Krüger and Galeria co-owner Bernd Beetz. At the time, the step was still dependent on the approval of the Federal Cartel Office.


The eyewear specialist MyKita was founded in Berlin in 2003 on the premises of a former day care center (daycare center), of which the name is derived. Since 2014, the company has been at the previous location in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin.
The new headquarters on Köpenicker Straße offers a total area of 3,800 square meters. There are 240 employees from 35 nations of a total of 350 global employees. Part of the Berlin team are around 110 artisans: inside who work on the glasses.

In addition to two stores in the Berlin homeland and a shop in Munich and Hamburg, there are also locations in Bangkok, Los Angeles, Monterrey, New York, Osaka, Taipei, Tokio, Washington and Zurich.
