The Swedish line-up for the single mixed relay at the 2025 biathlon World Cup is certain: Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson form the duo. Unlike in the past, Hanna Öberg has to follow the race as a viewer.

Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson start at the 2025 biathlon World Cup for Sweden in the single mixed season (Thursday, 4:05 p.m. in the Sport.de live ticker).

Halvarsson was rewarded for her strong appearance. The 25-year-old had surprisingly won silver in the victory of the Frenchwoman Julia Simon in Lenzerheide.

“I am very happy that I can start in the single mixed relay tomorrow,” Halvarsson was quoted on Wednesday in a press release from the Swedish biathlon association.

Hanna Öberg at Biathlon World Cup on a form search

Previously, Hanna Öberg had always participated in the Single-Mixed relay at World Championships since 2019-always alongside Samuelsson. The season highlight in Switzerland has so far been disappointing for the two-time Olympic champion.

At the start, fifth place jumped out with the Swedish mixed season. In the sprint (19th), in the persecution (11th) and in singles (43.), the three -time world champion clearly landed behind the medal ranks. So far, Hanna Öberg has had problems in particular at the shooting range.

As usual, Samuelsson takes part in the single mixed relay. The 27-year-old runs his own expectations at the biathlon World Cup and is waiting for a medal.

“Sebastian has many advantages in the seasons, especially in the crucial situations. He is also an incredibly faster sprinter, so it was very natural to have Sebastian with him,” said Sweden’s biathlon head coach Johannes Lukas in favor of the two-time world champion TV station “SVT”.
