The Wapen van Liempde is the first official 3-hour Vurraf-Kroeg. On Tuesday the plaquette was hung in the cafe on Raadhuisplein in Liempde. The start of the carnival in Brabant can not only be seen in the Wapen van Liempde, the feast of the parties is also celebrated. In the past two weeks, eleven cafés and party tents fought fiercely for the title 3-hour Vurraf-Kroeg. The public could vote via Facebook via the photo of their favorite pub. That was done en masse and it eventually became a neck-on-neck race between the Wapen van Liempde and the Wapen van Roosendaal.

The jury finally decided to have these two cafés compete against each other. Both cafés had to submit a motivation video why were the 3 hour kes Vurraf-Kroeg.

‘Liempt explodes’
Everything was pulled out of the closet for the motivative video. In one day, Liempde’s weapon recorded a video in which their beer, confetti and light and sound supplier participated. The carnival association also helped a hand and drummed up a lot of people. A professional cameraman was arranged and a drone was also used.
Together with neighbor De Durpsherberg, the Wapen van Liempde with carnival sets a large party tent on the square for their business. “And when 3 hours of Vurraf starts and we switch with us, it will explode here again, just like in our video,” laughs manager Bouwmans. “Liempde was very living with it, our phone was red -hot.”
Surprise
Bouwmans and his neighbor Ton van Alphen van de Durpsherberg expects it to be very busy 28 February during 3 hours of Vurraf. “In any case, the whole square and the carnival tent full,” says Van Alphen firmly.
“But if all those 36,000 people who have not won a ticket for 3 hours of Vurraf come to us, I don’t know exactly how we are going to do that,” he says with a smile.
Live connection
During the 3-hour Kes Vurraf party, the Wapen van Liempde will be connected live as an official 3-hour Vurraf-Kroeg 2025. It is the first time that a cafe or party tent has become so involved in the official start of carnival from Eindhoven.
