The driver with whom four very heavy concrete slabs fell on his car on Monday morning has some problems with his neck and shoulder. Above all, he is happy that he can retell it, he tells Omroep Gelderland. It is a 25-year-old man from Oss. In the accident on the A2, a truck lost its load of concrete slabs and two other cars caught fire. The truck driver and one of the drivers of the cars flown on fire were slightly injured.

It went wrong on Monday morning on the A2 near Zaltbommel. The Ossenaar was on his way to work and drove to Tiel when cars braked him hard. The driver himself also had to be in the anchors. In his interior mirror he saw the truck on time, after which he quickly went to the right track. Not long after, something crashed on his car and he stood still.

“This is how you get the shock of your life,” he looks back Omroep Gelderland. The truck, which suddenly had to brake hard, lost the load of concrete slabs and bumped into two cars. The concrete slabs fell on top of the man’s car from Oss. Two other cars caught fire. The A2 from Den Bosch to Utrecht was closed almost all morning.

“You go to work in the morning and then you suddenly have four concrete plates on your roof. When I turned around the shock really started,” says the 25-year-old driver. “I saw that the rear seat was completely flattened by the weight of the plates. I really had ten angels on my shoulder, everyone in my area says so too.”

According to the police, the truck driver and one of the drivers of the cars flown on fire were injured. Their injuries would not be serious. They were taken to the hospital.

“When I got home I really sat on the couch for an hour to process it a bit. Then I went to the doctor. The adrenaline first had to pull away I think, by noon I got bothered by my neck and shoulder.

The driver dares to get on the road again. “But that can also be different tomorrow. On Tuesday I also have work free to arrange some things, such as replacement transport. Maybe I avoid the place of the accident. I am already happy that I can retell it.”
