Tom Morello and Post Malone: When does the song common?
Guitarist Tom Morello has commented on working with singer Post Malone. He stated that the two of them had written a common song six years ago. In songwriting he also had some similarities between Post Malone and the late sound garden and audio lave front man Chris Cornell can determine.
“It’s a blast”
In the “Eddie Trunk Podcast” Tom Morello reported that there had been no opportunity to publish the shared track. In conversation, however, he compared the new piece with an iconic classic in rock history. “We wrote a song together that sounds in my ears as ‘Beat it’ must have sounded for Michael Jackson,” said Morello. “It’s a blast. It is an absolutely great rock song, ”said the former rage against-the-way guitarist convinced.
Both Morello and Malone have been busy lately. The former had played a number of festival appearances as a solo artist in the past few months. Post Malone recently worked with Taylor Swift and published his country pop album “F1 Trillion”. The high workload was also the reason why the song has not been completed long ago.
“One thing they have in common”
In the writing process, the former audio lave member Tom Morello also noticed a certain similarity between “Posty” and his late bandmate Chris Cornell. “When we wrote with Chris’ songs, we showered him with music. Be it a simple chord sequence like in ‘I am The Highway’ or a more complicated, heavy reef – and he immediately had a bunch of great melodies ready. We then wrote them down and then made the texts about it, ”said Morello.
He also recognized this ability with the “Circles” singer. “And that’s exactly how Post Malone does. Excellent melodies – a hit, an earwig, a beautiful, shattering melody after another. And that’s one thing that they have in common, ”said Tom Morello in an interview. Only the last cut is missing from the song. For the fans, unfortunately, this means: wait.
