Tennisser Jannik Sinner was suspended for doping use for three months after a violation of March last year. Initially, Sinner went free after two positive tests on the forbidden dust Clostebol, a slight anabolic steroid with a muscle strengthening effect. After the Doping Authority Wada appealed, the number 1 in the world with the Doping Authority now corresponds to a suspension from 9 February to 4 May.

Initially the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) In Sinners Explanation that the Clostebol in his doping test was due to a massage of a trainer who had used it for a cut in his finger. The concentration of the substance was particularly low, but the Wada doping authority appealed and wanted to enforce suspension for one to two years.

The Doping Authority now says that Sinner did not know about the violation and that the use did not give him a sporty benefit either. The Wada does, however, hold him responsible for ‘negligence of members of his entourage’. In view of “the unique facts of this case, a three -month suspension is considered an appropriate outcome,” writes Wada On her website.

The now agreed period had for Sinner, who was still in January Australian Open won, being able to unpack a lot. The next grand slam tournament, Roland-Garros in Paris, starts on 25 May. On May 7, Sinner could make his return with a home game at the Rome tennis tournament. The Italian does miss the lucrative master tournaments in the United States in the coming months.
