The pop remains melodic, but the paradise panorama is getting more and more cracks.
It is the fragmented images of a strange memory that seem strangely familiar to you on Tua’s new album F60.8 – just as if they might have arisen about their own lives. They only flicker briefly, but in their clarity they appeal to us in the greatest emotional intensity. In the intro “1996”, the lyrical ego increases from heaven in the gesture of the almost divine sublimity: “Whether the world keeps what it promises?” Asks.
Music that tries to reach for all the diffuse emotions of human existence
In fact, she initially shows himself as a paradise panorama, because the Reutlinger rapper and producer has again settled his new album in a sunny-Mediterranean setting after Eden (2024). The sound starts from a warm and dreamy basic tone, but once takes us on energy clubs (“easy”), then on worries-free beach afternoons (“reunion”), but finally also in aggressively-friendly thoughts (“Amnesia”).
The paradisiacal picture gets more and more cracks. Something is wrong here. Does it have anything to do with the repeatedly translucent hybris of the lyrical ego? The album title points in this direction: F60.8 – The diagnostic key for a narcissistic personality disorder. The sterile sound of this clinical science language does not fit into a music that tries to reach for all the diffuse emotions of human existence.
