Agents gave the motorist on the Hogeschoollaan a stop sign for a check, but he ignored this and ran off at high speed.

Several police cars went after the man. A police helicopter was also used for the chase.

The helicopter circled several laps above the Tilburg district De Reeshof to find the fleeing suspect.

Escape on foot
The driver got out of his car in the Oegstgeeststraat and tried to escape on foot. A cop was just a little faster than the man and managed to keep him.

During the chase, a police car was considerably damaged in Olststraat. Due to an oil leakage, the car could no longer drive further.

The bumper of the car was also damaged. A recovery company has eliminated and removed the car.

The police are investigating the chase. Why the man ran away is not clear.
