Double record show: Jakob Insbrigtsen breaks his 1500 m indoor record in France and gets back the mileage record.

Two world records in a race: Norwegian Jakob Inbrigtsen impressively demonstrated his exceptional position at the Hallen meeting in Liévin, French. The 24-year-old not only improved his own record over 1500 meters, but also took the mileage world record to the American Yared Nuguse-only five days after his record run.

Inside, the finish line crossed the finish line after 3: 45.14 minutes and undercut the time of Nuguse, which had run 3: 46.63 minutes in New York.

Already on the 1500-meter mark, Intebrigtsen was stopped with 3: 29.63 minutes and thus improved its own indoor world record from 2022 by almost a second. At that time he also ran 3: 30.60 minutes in Liévin.

“It feels incredible,” said Inbrigtsen after his historical run. “Something like that happens in Liévin. I’m a happy man.”

The mile (1,609 meters) is the only route that is not measured in metric unity, for which the World Athletics Association leads official world records.
