The last time FC Bayern was able to win Bayer Leverkusen, the coach Julian Nagelsmann and Sadio Mané was the star in the storm. In between there are five games in which the Werkself left the place three times as the winner, there was a draw twice – one of the longest unbeaten series against the Munich ever. Transfer market took a look at the database and looked at who was able to annoy the record champions the longest.

FC Bayern won 4-0 in September 2022 against Leverkusen. A short time later, Xabi Alonso took over the coaching post from Gerardo Seoane. Since then, the Munich team has not been able to win against the reigning champions, most recently in December in the DFB Cup on the Werkelf. In the Bundesliga, Bayern’s lead is eight points and the direct meeting is something like the last chance of Bayer to make the title race exciting.
The longest series without defeat against the record champions since Bundesliga was founded belongs to Werder Bremen. Between March 1988 and March 1994, the green-whites did not even lose against Bayern, six out of twelve games were won. Also in this millennium, the northern Germans at the national level managed to remain undefeated – eight games were between October 2000 and August 2004. Since then, Bremen’s victories against Munich have become rarity, because this did not work between September 2008 and January 2024 once.
FC Bayern since 2012 without a win: Real Madrid dominates Bestia Negra
A longer series than Werder Bremen has only Real Madrid this millennium, which has been unbeaten against Bavaria since April 2012. At that time, the royal people lost in penalty shooting against Munich, but in the regular season they won 2-1. Since then, the clubs have dueled three times in the semi -finals and once in the quarter -finals, always with the happier end for Real. The last meeting was in the semi -finals last season, which Joselu dramatically decided with a late double pack. At the turn of the millennium, FC Bayern was still the fear opponent of the Madrilenen, won in six out of eight encounters and was titled as Bestia Negra.
If Leverkusen once again manages to take something countable against FC Bayern on Saturday evening, the series will be expanded to six games. This would take the Werkelf with Schalke 04, Hamburger SV and AC Milan. The Rossoneri are still undefeated against Munich in this millennium, the last duel was 18 years ago. Alonso’s personal series against Bayern could be increased in nine games without defeat, five of them as Bayer coach, three as players from Real Madrid.
