On Tuesday, February 11th, Beatlemania broke out in Manhattan for a few hours. Paul McCartney had announced a surprise concert in the small Bowery Ballroom at the Lower East Side at lunchtime. The not even 600 tickets, which could only be purchased directly at the Venue Advance Center, were of course sold out within a few minutes.

A concert together with “Beatles-Schrei”

And when McCartney entered the stage with his tour band at 6:44 p.m. and tuned “A Hard Day’s Night”, there was no stopping. The ex-beatle was in a good mood, spoke. With the audience, said John Lennon’s New York love, playing through his entire career of “From Me To You” (1963) to “Jet” (1973) to the latest, Grammy-winning Beatles single “Now and Then ”.

When a female fan makes her joy particularly loud, he felt reminded of old times. “Hey, that was a Beatles scream,” he commented and did a little annoyed. “Okay, girls, let’s get it behind USD. Let us hear your Beatles writing. “

Clips or photos of the show have not yet appeared on the (social) media, because mobile phones were not allowed in the Bowery Ballroom that evening.
