The American shoe and clothing provider Wolverine World Wide Inc. has transferred additional responsibility to a group veteran. On Tuesday, the group of companies, which includes brands such as Merrell, Saucony and Sweaty Betty, announced the appointment of Brett Parent as Chief Strategy Officer.
Parent had already taken over the newly created position on February 3, the group said. He is therefore now responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate strategy and will continue to report directly to CEO Chris Hufnagel and belong to the group’s management team. Parents’ tasks also include the search for new growth opportunities for the group brands and the management of the consumer marketing team, which is intended to advance initiatives for the expansion of global e-commerce activities.
Parent has been working for Wolverine World Wide for almost two decades and held various management positions during this time. Before his promotion now carried out, he acted as Vice President of Strategy.
The strategy expert “practically every area” of the world’s worldwide activities and has a “long track record”, said CEO Hufnagel in a statement and emphasized that Parent had played a key role in the design and implementation of the reform measures in the past 18 months .
