Former top ice hockey player and coach Miika Elomo found dead on Sunday. Elomo was 47 years old.
Hearing Elomo’s departure had to be stopped for a moment in the Lions 4 Nations.
When the Lions head coach Antti Pennanen coached young Lions in the season 2020-21, he asked Elomo to join his coaching team.

Elomo was found dead at his home outside Paris. He coached for the second time in the French Main Series.
In his career, Elomo represented TPS, HIFK and Blues in the SM League. He won Finnish Championship gold at HIFK in 1998 and at TPS in 1999. He had a total of 230 league games and 55 points (26+29).
Elomo also played two matches in the NHL.
