Former top ice hockey player and coach Miika Elomo found dead on Sunday. Elomo was 47 years old.

Hearing Elomo’s departure had to be stopped for a moment in the Lions 4 Nations.

When the Lions head coach Antti Pennanen coached young Lions in the season 2020-21, he asked Elomo to join his coaching team.

Naturally, reminiscent of Elomo in Montréal under the top tournament made Pennanen serious. The topic is not easy.

– Of course I was really sad when I heard the news. Deep condolences to his loved ones, Pennanen said.

Pennanen has always talked about Elomo warmly.

– Above all, he comes to mind. He was a very loyal and socially talented, passionate hockey man.

Former TPS player Jani Kiviharju Said recently in an interview with Iltalehti that Elomo was a funny companion who laughed a lot.

Pennanen talks with Kiviharju as from the same mouth.

“People who knew Elomo will also miss that laughter,” Pennanen said.

Pennanen and auditorium coach Elomo received bronze medals at the end of the joint U20mm Games. The team’s number one man at that time was now in the lion to cool down Anton Lundell.

Elomo also coached Mikko from Ranta In A-youth and in the SM League.

Elomo was found dead at his home outside Paris. He coached for the second time in the French Main Series.

In his career, Elomo represented TPS, HIFK and Blues in the SM League. He won Finnish Championship gold at HIFK in 1998 and at TPS in 1999. He had a total of 230 league games and 55 points (26+29).

Elomo also played two matches in the NHL.
