At the first players championship event of the year, darts world champion Luke Littler had to give up a strongly playing Joe Cullen. There was a lot of criticism for the superstar on the net – however, this defends itself.
At the Players Championship in Wigan, Luke Littler was already in the third round. The teenager failed at the later second place Joe Cullen and had to give up 3: 6.
After leaving, Littler received a lot of criticism on the net. On Facebook, however, a fan took the Darts star under protection and wrote: “All her Littler haters make me laugh when I think about what he did on the tour in a year. I hate people who Make fun of the success of others. “
Then Littler reacted and commented on the post. “I still deserve a few pounds today while these people sit at home and charge their cell phones and wait for me to lose,” said the 18-year-old against his haters.
At least 1,500 pounds – the equivalent of around 1800 euros – has collected “The Nuke” for his appearance in Wigan.
In the further course of the tournament, Littler-Schreck Cullen also switched off Luke Humphries. In the semifinals, the 36-year-old prevailed 7: 6 against the world ranking list.
In the final, however, Cullen had to give up Rob Cross 3: 8.
Darts world champion Littler with motivation problems?
Luke Littler had recently explained that he had problems with Protour events to motivate himself because the games are not completed on a stage and therefore not in front of an audience.
“The old lyre: You win the big game and then seem to lose your desire for a while,” was therefore a reproach on the net.
Littler already has the next chance to reach a final on Tuesday. A Players championship tournament is coming up again in Wigan.
