Montblanc has unveiled the first leather goods collection under the creative direction of Marco Tomasetta, the luxury goods retailer announced.
Tomasetta has been Artistic Director at Montblanc since March 2021. For the redefinition of the Meisterstück collection, “the design should be brought closer to Montblanc’s iconic symbol of timelessness – the Montblanc fountain pen”, according to Tomasetta.
The innovations in design are accordingly based on the fountain pen of the same name, which has been a Montblanc classic since its first edition in 1924. The black Montblanc leather has been taken up in a new, shimmering version that imitates the smooth surface of the writing instrument. The shape of the Meisterstück spring is reflected in the hardware details of the collection – for example as attachments for handles and straps, or in the form of suitcase tags. But the Montblanc emblem itself, the silhouette of the European Alpine mountain, can also be found in the collection.
The smaller leather goods in the collection are produced in three colors: Montblanc black, and red and blue, both colors taken from the company’s design archive. The range includes wallets in various sizes, card cases and smaller bags. The collection also includes a duffle bag, a tote bag, a leather document holder and a wallet.
The Meisterstück collection will be available online and in Montblanc stores worldwide from March.
Montblanc is headquartered in Bellevue, Switzerland and is part of the Swiss luxury goods group Compagnie Financière Richemont SA.
