The change of the former Schalke Rodrigo Zalazar from SC Braga to Zenit St. Petersburg has reportedly burst. The Portuguese first division club confirmed this on request, reports the Russian portal “Euro Football”. Nothing has yet been known about the exact reasons for the return of the 25-year-old, who had already gathered in the Zenits training camp in Abu Dhabi.
In the past few days, the change of Spaniard with Uruguay’s citizenship had become more specific. According to the “Sky”, a transfer fee of 22 million euros was in the room, the newspaper “Record” reported 15 million euros in base revenue and 5 million euros in bonuses, half of which was linked to player and the other.
In principle, however, there was already agreement between the clubs regarding a transfer. Zalazar’s contract in Braga has been dated until 2028, since the move from Gelsenkirchen to Portugal (6 million euros transfer) had been able to quadruple his market value and is now one of the ten most valuable professionals in his home country.
His strong development was also evident in the sporting statistics: in a total of 70 games for Braga, the right foot was directly involved in 32 goals (14 goals/18 assists) – 14 scorer points dating from this season. In the course of the Zalazar change from Braga to Zenit, the second division Schalke will be exposed to the exposed money flow for the time being. According to “Sky”, the royal blue keep a 10 percent participation in the transfer with a resale.
