In the Champions League, FC Bayern must not appear in the classic red jerseys. The reason is a UEFA rule.

Next Wednesday, FC Bayern Munich will meet Celtic Glasgow in the Champions League intermediate round. As in the entire running royal class season, the German record champion will not appear in his classic red jerseys.

The reason for this is the rules of the UEFA: According to the association, the dark back numbers on the jersey do not offer enough contrast and thus violate the visibility rules.

The jersey is not forbidden, but an adaptation with white numbers and names would have been necessary – Bayern have so far dispensed. Instead of red in red, the Munich team has so far appeared either in the black alternative jersey or in the retro jersey in beige with old club coat of arms.

The task in Scotland will not be easy. Brendan Rodgers, coach of Celtic, already sent a clear announcement towards Munich: “I have no doubt that we can hurt Bavaria. We showed in every level that goals are in us.”

The Scots are a serious opponent, especially in Celtic Park at home. This season they are still unbeaten in twelve league games and four champions League games at home. RB Leipzig also had to find out that it can be uncomfortable in the Glasgow cauldron: The Saxons lost 1: 3 in the group phase.

Bavaria routiner Thomas Müller knows the special atmosphere in Celtic Park and recently made it clear: “If you underestimate the Scots, you have never experienced it in Celtic Park. This atmosphere is insane; this will be a real highlight.”
Should Bayern successfully design the playoff game in Glasgow, in the next round either Bayer Leverkusen or Atlético Madrid. Müller joked: “So your beer is making cold, February will definitely be an exciting football month.”
