Did you already know police officer Adrie? Together with all Brabant colleagues, this agent of the Oeteldonk unity again hands out beautiful carnival emblems. Those who want such a emblem must be fast because the pictures that you can iron on your Pekske are very sought after. “We have 40,000 emblems and they are almost almost finished.”
It is the third time that the Oost-Brabant police unit has come up with a carnival sample. “And this year the Zeeland-West-Brabant unit is also taking part. They have 20,000 and we have 20,000,” says police officer Frans, who with Carnival brings out his Alterego Agent Adrie.
Agent Adrie originated because the police wanted a figurehead with carnival. “At first we thought of one of our neighborhood agents, but that was difficult with the continuity. In the end, Adrie was born. He is a bit of a cross between Lamme Frans and New Kids.”
This carnival agent therefore wears a different Pekske than the ‘real’ agents on the street. “We consciously put Adrie in a costume because it is carnival, but of course you want the real uniforms to be taken seriously,” says Frans.
“Everywhere you go, people are already asking for an emblem.”
Agent Adrie held a competition on Frans’s Instagram account and there are many responses to that. Just like in previous years, the carnival emblems of the police are popular. “Everywhere you go, people are already asking about it. I had a lot of things in my pocket, but I got through it. So I also have to show my colleagues.”
According to Frans, we will not only see Agent Adrie on Instagram, but also on the street. “During carnival, Adrie goes to Mierlo again and some other places,” says Frans. “With Carnival, he also gives some tips on how you can go out safely and how you ensure that you close your house well.”

Of course Adrie will also hand out some of those popular carnival semes. “The origin of the emblem comes from the team in Den Bosch. They all have Pekskes with carnival, so then our team thought: why not their own emblem?” Says Frans.
The emblems are even in demand above the rivers. “From other parts in the country they first looked a bit strange. A man with a wig and an emblem? But now we already get emails internally asking:” Do you also have an emblem for us? ” So that’s a lot of fun! “
