The Nordic top -class players identified the victory on Friday (07.02.2025). Combier king Jarl Magnus Riiber celebrated the 78th World Cup victory at the start of the three-day World Cup general rehearsal in the Estonian Otepää.
The Norwegian, who ends at the end of the season for health reasons, won in front of the Austrian Johannes Lamparter and Vinzenz Geiger. “It was perfect, it feels great”said Riiber, who had jumped on the hill at 102.5 m once more in his own league.
In the trail, Geiger, who had fueled a lot of confidence in his triple victory in Seefeld, was a bit faster than riiber. In the mass start over ten kilometers, the 27-year-old pushed the ski leaders just before the Norwegian. In the second part of the competition, the flight was asked. Riiber flew away from the competition and snapped the victory. Lamparter (96.5 meters) secured a shock tender with 0.5 points ahead of Geiger (97 meters).
Julian Schmid as fifth and Terrence Weber in seventh place made the good DSV result perfect. Johannes Rydzek, Wendelin Thannheimer, David Mach and Manuel Faißt landed in the ranks 16 to 19.
Geiger wins tactical races
From the beginning, violinists and teammates Schmid stayed under the top ten of the management group over the 10 kilometers. After five kilometers, the field including the co -favorites Riiber, Jens Luraas Ausbro (Nor) and Thomas Rettenegger (AUT) was still closely together. At 6.2 kilometers of Geiger and Manuel, a small rocket surprisingly ignited and tried to break away, but the field quickly caught the field.
Schmid also put a pace and tried to break away with faiß and violinist in the top group. In the finish sprint, Geiger brought the ski tips 0.2 seconds before the Norwegian top favorite. Freybro stormed in third place in front of Rettenegger. Schmid became fifth.
Faißt (12th) and Weber (13th) also gave hope for a good end result. Thannheimer (16.), Rydzek (24th), Tristan Sommefeldt (29th) and David Mach (41.) added the DSV intermediate stand, but were no longer able to intervene on the ski jump for the places on the podium.
