Two German teams are still represented in the Champions League. But they have to deal with heavy opponents.

In the women’s champions League, hard opponents are waiting for the two German teams in the quarter-finals. VfL Wolfsburg meets defending champion Barça, while FC Bayern Munich is dealing with record winner Olympique Lyon. This was the result of the draw on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.

Bayern coach Alexander Straus emphasized that there was no simple opponent in this round anyway. Lyon is “a strong team” with “extremely much experience”. In addition, with Sara Däbritz, Dzsenifer Marozsán and Laura Benkarth, there are three German players in the squad of the Top Club. “It will be a great experience, and we will do everything in our power to beat Lyon and move into the semi -finals,” said Straus.

The first legs take place in Munich and Wolfsburg on March 18 and 19, as both teams missed the group victory. The second legs will be held on March 26th and 27th. If Wolfsburg reaches the semi -finals, the winner of the English duel between Manchester City and FC Chelsea is waiting. Bavaria would meet Real Madrid or Arsenal FC in the event of a progress.

The final will take place on May 24th in the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon.
