Among papal buildings, Romanesque churches, archaeological parks and the largest Collection of peonie in bloom of the world.

What we will see: Etruscans and Peonie

The first day we start from Sutri, one dethe most beautiful villages in Italywith a cathedral of Romanesque origin and a Archaeological park in which to discover a Roman amphitheater dug in the tuffone vast Etruscan necropolis. The second day we will dedicate ourselves to a visit to Bracciano, among the beauty of a protected nature And the fascinating mystery that envelops its history, more than a thousand years old. From the clear banks of the homonymous lake we will go to the Orsini Odescalchi Castle with its ancient weapons, furnishings, paintings, manuscripts, decorations and frescoes. Free lunch.

The afternoon will instead be dedicated to an unmissable place for lovers of peonies: the Moutan botanist center, over 15 hectares of Chinese peonies in bloom. Thanks to a guide just for us we will discover more than 250,000 plants belonging to approx 600 varieties. Every spring the garden turns into an explosion of colors and perfumes, thanks to the spectacular flowering of these plants. Icing on the cake, peonies can also be purchased!

Viterbo and Italian gardens

The third day will be dedicated to visiting Villa Lante, a large villa in the late Renaissance known to host one of the most famous Italian gardens. Ancient summer residence of the bishops of Viterbo, it is located south of the medieval village of Bagnaia, on the slopes of the Cimini Mountains. In the afternoon, we will discover with a guide the historic center of Viterbo: the “City of the Popes”, of Etruscan origin, Between aristocratic palaces and works of art, high medieval walls and massive towers still almost intact today.
